occasional diarrhoea - also, can a cold/sore throat be linked to diahorrea?

dd1 (3) gets a couple of bouts of diahorrea, say once/twice a day for a couple of days, almost every week. it hadnt really worried me as she has no other symptoms, but i feel bad now as ive just told mum and shes horrified

also, dd1 has had a cold/sore throat for ages now. could the 2 be linked

I have read about toddler diarrhoea - sort of looseness of the bowels that is not really a sign of illness - but I don't know if it exists or is a myth.
