Please talk to me about Thyroid

I was diagnosed with under-active thyroid nearly 3 months ago. I started on 50mg Levothyroxine and after a month I felt miles better. Had lots more energy and felt really positive. In the last two weeks though, I've gone back to how I felt before.

Had blood test yesterday and seeing the doctor next week. Nurse said my body could be getting used to the thyroxine and I may need to increase the dose. What concerns me is my levels were "borderline" to start with and if they are now fine, it may be something else.

Anyone had experience of this? I start a new job next week and I wanted to feel in tip-top condition.

Hi, how odd as i feel the same and thought i will just check on mumsnet and there was your post. I too was diagnosed a few months ago, first month felt great but now i feel awful again. So tired, and feel like i have a constant hangover. What are your symptoms? My levels were also borderline. Will be very interested to hear from other people with more experience on this. How do you feel day to day? Nina

Hi Nina thanks for your reply. I posted in chat as well and there are some more replies here

Yeah, the hangover is about right, sort of a fuzzy head, tired, lethargic and NO motivation. I also had aches and pains which are back. I was originally tested for Rheumatoid Arthritis and they did a routine thyroid with that. I was relieved not to have RA!
