Having first period for years and bought some cheap/on offer pads. I've gone spotty on the undercarriage and it kills!!!

Could it be the pads? Are there any super kind ones?

I find the plasticky one use sanitary towels very uncomfortable. I prefer reuseable soft cotton ones, much more comfortable.

hattifattner · 13/05/2012 07:27

i avoid san towels for this very reason.

ettiketti · 13/05/2012 07:57

I'll risk trying tampons again I think!! Thank you both.

I used towels after my girls were born and found them v uncomfortable after a while. I think indeed it's the plasticky layer that isn't really breathable. Was glad to be able to go back to tampons

wishiwasonholiday · 13/05/2012 08:12

Mooncup too and I also use envive pads as I find them the most comfortable.

DukeHumfrey · 13/05/2012 08:14

No. Spotty undercarriage suggests you have no hair there.

Let it grow and towels will not rub.

eggyblackett · 13/05/2012 08:14

Mooncup!

ChunkyMonkeyMother · 13/05/2012 08:18

I was just going to say that Duke - towels and shaven havens don't mix well! I use pads but I am like a wild forest au natural down there and still get the occasional itch when I buy always - I think it's the fragrance, I used to use Asda's night time pads but since having the coil put in I can use any light ones I like and I've found the Tesco ones to be very itchy but the lillets to be good, except they must be made with super glue because man those thing stick!

ettiketti · 13/05/2012 08:38

Not shaved under there, just not very hairy, lost most if my hair last year due to health issues, most of it didn't come back! Hoping this is my last one for a LONG time, but I'll order a mooncup and in the meantime try tampons.
Thanks all!

Do they do wigs for the area?

ettiketti · 13/05/2012 08:55

Merkin? Only for the front tho I fear!

Undercarriage merkins may be a step too far (and itchier).
