Dry cough

I've been having this dry, violent cough for two weeks now. Saw a doctor, apparently it's a virus but I can't cope anymore with sleepless nights and exploding headaches due to my coughing. Tried many things: honey, lemon, ginger, vinegar... nothing seems to work. Any advice please?

Steam? Have you tried sitting in a steamy room?

Get the medicne from the pharmacist - the one called something like Night Time Cough relief for adults - the pharmacist has to sell it you over the counter. But it works. It actually stops you coughing.

Tried steaming at home but will get Night TIme Cough. I cannot believe how unpleasant and painful this cough is. Thanks.
