I think DS1 has thrush. he has a few small spots nad red patches on his penis. he insisted on showing them to me, as DH is away and he ovb cannot show it to him!
I have seen thrush before, and have canestan cream. However - and this is the Blush bit - does he need to pull the foreskin back and rub it on the red patches there, or not?

I'm not able to ring DH and ask him and it's not really the kind of question I can ask step dad or FIL!

ewww - yes, i think so. Poor lad. Is he run down?

ShotgunNotDoingThePans · 06/05/2012 20:21

I think so yes.

Yep, defo pull back the foreskin, BUT defo make sure it is spotlessly clean and dry.
Follow what it says on the pack about how often to apply, but make sure it is clean and dry everytime.

How old is he?
Will he show a GP?

Saltire · 06/05/2012 20:24

He ahs been a bit, and is tired too and not sleeping too great as DH is away for 6 months. he had a bad virus bug thin 2 weeks ago and he doens't seem to be over it completely. Also complainig of a lot of aches and pains. He's 14, bless him he's got very wound up convinced he has something serious wrong, and that it'll fall off Hmm

He should see a GP. You need to take him & offer to explain the generally unwell background bit, but then leave him to talk privately.
It won't fall off.

Saltire · 06/05/2012 20:40

I know it won't fall of but explaining that to a 14 year old isn't easy Grin. I will take him to docs on Tuesday when they re-open, and in the meantime will give him some canestan to use
