ds2 (age 2.5) has been poorly past few days, temperature, bad cough and cold etc- tonight he has broke out in spots which are like red rashes with pimples in ( kind of like the pimples that you would get if you had contacted with nettles)

the spots on the rash go white when pressed, any experience of this?

Saw someone posting about this yesterday. they said if the spots go white when pressed, it is scarlet fever!

My doctor said sometimes kids get rashes when they are fighting an infection - which it sounds like your son is.

Have a book open in front of me. Did the spots start around the neck and then spread over whole body? Is there an area of skin around the mouth that is pale and without spots? If so, it is scarlet fever.

no, started on arms and legs
