Geographic Tongue: Part II

A couple of years ago there was a thread Geographic Tongues Anonymous and I just wonder how the condition has progressed for those of you who have it.

Four years ago I developed a lesion on my tonuge that would go away and return. Now (4 yrs later) my tongue is covered in lesions, some of which seem to be almost "grooves" or dents. I have it looked at about once a year by dentists and whatnot who tend to glance at it and say, "Oh, that's geographic tongue" but I'm starting to worry that it's something worse. It's just SO severe. I'm going to the gp next week to see if he wants to refer me on to someone else. Wonder if anyone else has it this bad? Also perpetually have a coating on my tongue that is supposedly consistent with being run-down etc. But bloods, etc have been fine.
