DS is five. He normally has a booming voice but he lost his voice and has been talking in a squeaky growl for about five days now.

Whilst this has had its advantages I'm just strating to get worried.

Should I take him to the doctor? He has not other symptoms except a blocked nose.

is probably laryngitis

I agree with CD, probably laryngitis. I get this a lot and totally lose my voice some times, it does last for several days and after repeatdly happening I finally when to Drs at one point. She said that there was nothing they could do and I simply had to give my voice a rest and not even try to talk. However, given that your DS is only 5 I would call and ask for advice just in case it is something more.

Oh, I'm jealous. I wish my DD would get laryngitis. It would be so peaceful at home.

Spidermama · 13/02/2006 17:56

Thanks. It does indeed look like laryngitis. Possibly made worse by his need to talk in a very loud whisper and force his voice.

Lol uwila. I know what you're saying.
