Just need space to worry....

I'm feeling a bit sorry for myself and trying not to worry. I have been having awful facial flushing for a few weeks; very hot, red skin on cheeks. The skin feels like it's burned (it's not). The flushing lasts about a few hours and the skin feels slightly tender afterwards. I made the mistake of googling facial flushing and now (I have health anxiety) swing between thinking I have a rare form of cancer or the menopause. In rational moments I think it's probably rosacea.

Does anyone have experience of rosacea? I have made a GP appt for next week but any advice on managing this would be very much appreciated.

My MIL suffers from this and found that cutting out gluten and dairy improved it drastically.

She occassionally allows herself some cheese etc every now and then but at least she knows that there's a chance it will cause a flare up rather than not being attuned to it.

Alcohol is a big trigger, as can be chocolate and dairy. Mine is worst when I eat tomatoes - and I love them! Keeping a food diary can be very helpful, even if only to eliminate food as a trigger. Most likely to be rosacea, so try not to worry.
