Have been having cramp like pains in my chest on the left side at random times eg sometimes wakes me up or when sweeping the floor or from just lying on my left side. The pain feels like my heart stops and cramps and is enough to take my breath away and make me bend into myself iykwim ,but can breathe slowly through it. The pain only lasts seconds each time. Sometimes it just niggles me, like its going to start but dosent. I recently went to the nurse for a smear test and mentioned it to her and she said to keep a diary of the pains and didnt seem to worried about it. I just keep worrying especially with recent events in the news lately, but dont really want to bother the doctor as the nurse didnt seem to worried. I am 33 and probably a stone and half overweight, so have started sw, am otherwise quite healthy. Has anyone else experienced pain like this?

do u get pain when you exercise

do it go when you stop

it doesnt sound like angina but is something you need to get looked at, my just be musclular pain, that can be easily treated. the diary is looking at when you get pain, is it associated with exercise or exhertion....

always best to get it checked out

My mum has angina. Eventually she worked out that it is when she is cold. She realised her bedroom was too cold at night, and she was bereathing in air that was too cold for her.Go to the dr and get a diagnosis.

If you are worried, then certainly see your doctor. Seeing a doctor about chest pain is not wasting time, even if it one's turn out to be benign.
