Boney bump growing on finger?

Noticed this a few days ago and not sure if it's worth seeing gp about?

On my little finger there is now a bump just above the top joint kind if to the side. It feels hard like bone and doesn't move. It isn't painful at all.

Do bones just get a but bumpy sometimes for no reason? Like a new deformity or something.

I don't want my doctor to laugh at me!

(bizarrely I posted about an itchy finger a few days ago, it was the other little one. I'm not finger obsessed honest!)

Sounds like a ganglion? I had one in my wrist which lasted for a year and then just went away. They are very odd but nothing to worry about if that is what it is.

Thanks! Just googled and it does make sense but I really hope it doesn't end up huge like some if the images!
