Mirena Coil - bleeding after 2 years - is this normal?

Hello

I had my mirena coil replaced two years ago and have had no problems (ie no bleeding etc.) however, for the past month I have had daily bleeding and am a bit concerned as have had nothing in the past.

I hope to speak to my GP about it tomorrow but was interested if anyone know if this is normal or something to worry about.

thank you !

I have a copper coil, which I know isn't the same, but last month I had a lot of spotting. Then I had a period and since that finished it's been totally normal. It's odd. I think it's worth checking with your GP.

I had similar. 3 months after it was put in my periods stopped. 9 months after that they're back but very sporadic (some heavy, some light, couple of days, a week, random amounts of time between them)

I had mine 18 months and started bleeding again. Got to the point where I'd had enough and had it taken out as I was spotting literally every day and cramps.

Doctor did say to me that hormonal changes can cause it and he did want me to persevere, but I'd had enough.

The first one I had was brilliant though. A bit of spotting every couple of months tops.
