MMR at same time as other jabs

We have just had the letter inviting us to bring our daughter for her one year vaccinations. At the same appointment they do the MMR, HIB/meningicciccal C combined, and the pneumoccocal13 booster.

My question is, is it normal for all of these to be given at once? It sounds like a lot to me.

Thanks for any replies.

I think it is normal yes, but I personally opted to have HIB and men C first and go back 6 weeks later for further vaccines.

This is a fairly new regime. DS (aged nearly 3) has the MMR in his red book scheduled at age 13 months.
So, bringing it forward to 12 months has occurred within the last three years. You are, obviously, allowed to space them out as you choose. If you do decide to, make sure you tell the nurse so she doesn't just give it anyway.

Thank you both.

Pinktrees - can i ask why you spaced them out? What it a feeling or something you read?

I think i would like to space them out but not sure i can give a good enough reason why to the nurse. I just feel its a lot for a little body to handle.

Goody You don't need to give a reason at all. Just make your decisions and be sure to tell the nurse. You don't need to explain it to her. Sometimes it is easier not to even have the discussion. Your child is, after all, your child, not theirs.

Goodygumdrops - we gave the MMR first and then the rest of the shots 4 weeks later. No reason needed.

I would say that the illnesses that HIB/MenC are protecting against are more dangerous than the illnesses MMR is protecting against. Therefore you should go with HIB/MenC first if you plan to space them in my opinion.
