Bladder infection (again)

This is probably me asking a question instead of just whining and whimpering, but....should I still feel uncomfortable, and wince when dd2 sits on my bladder, after one and a half days of antibiotics?

I did pounce on this, symptoms started yesterday morning and I got to the GP in the afternoon (with blood, protein, white cells in wee sample) so I'm hoping to knock it on the head fast. Amazing how rubbish a little bladder infection can make one feel Confused

I get lots of these and the last time I had AB's it took a week for it to clear up. I sympathise - I have another one coming on and it does make you feel rubbish doesn't it Sad

What ABs are you on Elibean? Trimethoprim by any chance?

If so, it is a general AB and might not be right for the specific bug causing your infection. You should have had a wee sample sent off for analysis, and the result will be back by now. You may need a more specific AB.

IME, symptoms should begin easing after a day or 2, and you shouldn't really be feeling ill after 4 days. Perhaps it is worth giving the surgery a call to discuss?

No, not trimethoprim this time - last time I was, and then had to go on to another course (although sample tested reactive to trimetho as well as Macrodantin).

Straight on to the Macrodantin this time. I think they are making me feel rubbish too, to be fair, so could be the infection is clearing up - they said they'd call straight away if sample said was wrong AB. Fourth day today...
