Bladder infection (again)

This is probably me asking a question instead of just whining and whimpering, but....should I still feel uncomfortable, and wince when dd2 sits on my bladder, after one and a half days of antibiotics?

I did pounce on this, symptoms started yesterday morning and I got to the GP in the afternoon (with blood, protein, white cells in wee sample) so I'm hoping to knock it on the head fast. Amazing how rubbish a little bladder infection can make one feel Confused

I get lots of these and the last time I had AB's it took a week for it to clear up. I sympathise - I have another one coming on and it does make you feel rubbish doesn't it Sad

Thanks - good to know it can take time, that helps! Fourth day now and definitey not right yet.

What ABs are you on Elibean? Trimethoprim by any chance?

If so, it is a general AB and might not be right for the specific bug causing your infection. You should have had a wee sample sent off for analysis, and the result will be back by now. You may need a more specific AB.

IME, symptoms should begin easing after a day or 2, and you shouldn't really be feeling ill after 4 days. Perhaps it is worth giving the surgery a call to discuss?

Best of luck. UTIs are the bane of my life.

No, not trimethoprim this time - last time I was, and then had to go on to another course (although sample tested reactive to trimetho as well as Macrodantin).

Straight on to the Macrodantin this time. I think they are making me feel rubbish too, to be fair, so could be the infection is clearing up - they said they'd call straight away if sample said was wrong AB. Fourth day today...
