Painful perineum

I had dd2 7.5 months ago. I had a second degree tear but was right as rain after a week. Since Thursday my perineum has started to become tender. Today the scar feels raised and I have to sit and stand slowly. It is as sore as a few days post birth. Don't normally have any pelvic floor issues but wondered if i had done damage lifting hefty dd2 among other things or do I have an infection?

I sympathise - it took me over 9 months to feel ok down there after childbirth! I was sure I had been stitched badly or it hadn't healed well, but doctors assured me it looked fine. It's just how it is for some of us.
1st, get a doctor to check it's healed ok; then, have obsessive hygiene there, quick shower there 2x day, anti-bacterial soap or gel, unscented, pat dry with disposable kitchen towel or loo paper, not a re-used towel; massage antiseptic cream or fragrance free lotion there 2x daily;
try to remember to do pelvic floor exercises.
& very important: if tender, before you bend down or lift dd, pull in & hold your stomach muscles - & pelvic floor muscles if you remember!
Hope you feel better soon.
