Nutritionist in London

Can anyone recommend a good nutritionist in London?

I've been feeling quite run down for a while and I'd like to get tested to see what vitamins / minerals I might be deficient in. I'm still breastfeeding DD (8mo).

Many thanks in advance.

There are no really reliable tests for vitamin/mineral deficiencies. Your GP will be able to do tests for iron, B12 and folate, and prescribe supplements as needed. Rather than see a nutritionist (anyone can claim to be a nutritionist without any proper qualifications), I'd suggest seeing your GP for them to assess why you are feeling run down and perhaps a dietician (who definitely will have relevant qualifications as it is a protected term).

What Bartlet said - Dietician = three year degree and experience working in NHS

Nutritionist = read a book and I like being on TV

Why not just try an OTC multivitamin?

Thanks both of you. I didn't appreciate the difference between the two terms. So can anyone recommend a good dietician in London?

Your GP will be able to refer to dieticians if that's what's needed. If you are feeling run down though, I'd see a GP first off though. You need someone to check why you might be feeling like this as you might be anaemic, have an underactive thyroid, be depressed etc or indeed just feel rundown because you have an 8 month old baby! Nutritonists are not the same as dietitians.

Most dietitians also call themselves nutriitonaist but the opposite doesn't apply.
