Hi ,my ds is 2 1/2 months old and since the birth i have had very dry skin. More recently it has become really itchy and i have several patches , particularly on my calves and forearms that have become red like small grazes.

is this likely to be due to hormonal changes? or maybe the fact that with baby i have neglected my usual skincare routines somewhat?

i've tried using various creams, and also olive oil but nothing is heping.
any advice?

the particularly dry air at the moment is making my hands very dry and cracking on the knuckles. Maybe try and keep the room you are in a bit more moist.

Yeah, my hands are awful at the moment, and my legs are like a scaly old lizard's. Yuk! I find the Body Shop body butter quite good, but you do feel a bit greasy.

thanks..i thought it could be the fact that i am living in tights these days, i can't get into my pre-preg trousers and the maternity ones are a joke now, so have been wearing skirts/dresses since.not so sure now it's on my arms too.

could also be the heating, as it's on almost all the time now for the baby, and we used to not really bother before he was born.

belgianbun..i will do! i can't send cats myself at the moment, even though i have paid subscription.

Try washing with aquaeous cream - whilst it won't solve the problem as such, it will not cause any drying/itching like soaps/washes and gels etc will.
