Insoles for flat feet?

I thought I'd better not post this on the style & beauty forum Wink

Does anyone suffer from flat feet and wear these? I've had problems with my legs on & off for years and am now waiting for a physio referral. I've had flat feet all my life and am wondering whether this, along with getting older and doing a job where I'm on my feet all day is making the pain worse. I was in the chemists earlier and saw some Scholl orthopaedic inserts for your shoes that sound as though they may be pretty helpful.

They were £22 though! I've found them cheaper on eBay but thought I'd ask on here whether anyone has used them with good results before I spent ££ on them.

I had them when I was younger as I'm flat footed (should wear them still but podiatrist lost my notes), i got mine from the hospital as they were specially made, maybe worth getting referred if you're having problems?

Thanks wishi :)

I wonder if the physio would be able to help with them then, or refer me on? I'm not sure how long my referral will take so might buy some to try anyway, even if to just try and ease the pain a bit. Did you find that they worked for you?

My physio referred me to a podiatrist. I have insoles specially made for me and my painful knees and hips are a thing of the past. Do ask for a referral.

Thanks Madlizzy, I'm so glad to hear that they've worked for you :) I'm struggling again with my leg tonight, even paracetomol & codeine hasn't touched the pain, so I'm hopeful that insoles will help me too. I think I'll get some of the Scholl ones and keep my fingers crossed for a quick physio appt.
