Blocked tear duct on upper eyelid.

I have a tiny spot like thing just on the inside of my top eyelid. I can't ever feel it when I wear my contact lenses (I think they protect my eye from feeling it) but when I take them out it can be really uncomfortable. It feels like there's something under my eyelid and can take a couple of hours to stop hurting. It will then be ok for the rest of the day and night until I take my lenses out the next day.
Saw my optician last month for a contact lens check up and she said it looks like a blocked tear duct. She suggested I hold a hot flannel to the eye every day and it should help to unblock it. But so far it hasn't worked.
I know I'm going to have to go to my GP about this but I'm just wondering what he'll be able to do.
Anyone any experience of this?

I had similar but it wasn't a blocked duct it was Blepharitis With Chalzion

It began as a spot like thing inside my lower lid...but they can come beneath the top lid too....and then it grew until you could see the lump from the outside of the ld too....I had some sticky eyelashes with it and it can turn nasty if left...it's an infection thing. I had to go in and have a local anasthetic to get it taken out.

It didn't hurt...was bizarre and I had a shiner after but no reacurrance. Go to the GP asap as it can result in loss of all eyelashes permanently.

I should clarify....the doctor took the lump out...not my eye!

Thanks. Think it's going to have to be GP as hot compress isn't having any effect and don't want it to get worse.
