How much for private physio (pelvic floor)???

9 weeks post-partum, I feel that things aren't right in the pelvic floor department. I've been trying to do my PFEs but think I'm a little untalented. Hmm I have an appointment with the GP tomorrow, who I hope will refer me for some physio but if she doesn't I'd like to see one privately.

How much do they generally charge a session? Surely someone else on here has gone down that route?

I'm in the South East. I have paid £30-50 per half hour. You need to find a physio who will deal with "Women's Health".

I had private physio a few years ago for a neck/shoulder problem. ISTR that it was £80 for first appt (double length) and then £40 after that for, I think, 20 or 30 minutes.

My PMI paid for it.

I'm having it on the NHS, there were no problems with referral and it's been great so far. Does need to be a gynae physio like Ben10 says.

I am going private (in Leeds) and having physio sessions privately for exactly that, pelvic floor exercise! Not sure whereabouts you are MrsHuxtable but if you're in or around Leeds, i go to the Spire Leeds hospital. Luckily for me, I pay for private health through work (currently on maternity leave) so i'm covered but having looked at the price list, the first session I believe is £80 and then they would probably want to see you every two weeks (depending on how weak your muscles are). My baby boy is 15 weeks tomorrow and my muscles are weak from a particularly bad birth. If you are in or around the same area as me, more than happy to suggest a name of someone and details etc....

Sorry, forgot to say that the follow up sessions after the first initial consultation are cheaper, i think it's £40 and lasts about 30 mins.
