i keep getting this cramping pain which feels worse on the right directly under my ribs-but builds up over an hour or so to feel like all around to my back etc. mainly at night- wakes me up- but has happened mid afternoon twice....feeling it now- this is the 5th time in 2 weeks.
makes breathing in painful...though deffo not a feeling of pain in chest- deffinitately below ribs- like a stitch- does not go away after paracetamol or nurofen.
feeling quite nauseous. also noticed excessive thirst-then the pain...then a day of very yellow wee.(no pain when i wee...so cannot be cystitis...can it???)
eating less- feeling full very quickly-bile taste in throat.

any ideas oh doctors of mumsnet

a stomach ulcer? indigestion? I'd take a quick trip tp the docs tbh. Dh gets indigestion that wakes him up in the night.

Is that why you're up? (ds3 is awake here).

hi JJ....yes thats why i'm up!..and i'm so peed off with it...as today i'm being taken to the birmingham NEC to the spring trade fair...90mins journey-there - and a long 12 hour day ahead...and i thought this was just a tummy bug- but keeps happening.

he thirst/yellow urine is niggling me too...as seems linked- yet as far as i know- urine infections cause pain low in the abdomin (bladder?)...whereas this has got to be my stomach?

hope your ds3 is ok- is this 'just a normal' nightime- or is he poorly?

i've not even been lurking on mn much lately...so apologies for my ignorance if you've mentioned it elsewhere!!!!!

ds2 is ill (that fluey thing) andwas so noisy crashing into bed with us that he woke ds3 (he did yesterday as well grr).

Because of the thirst I'd go for a blood sugar test tbh- If it's waking you its worth a trip to the docs. To test for stmach ulcers these days they just get you to breathe into something initially apparently. A blood sugar test is easy to organise. Have you tried rennies? Gall baldder problems spring to mind as a possible cause as well. Or pancreatitis (although I think the pain there is absolutely crippling).

I;d go to the docs, they may be able to suss it out really quickly.

DS3 is just going off so if I disappear back to bed, good luck!

is your urine foamy ?

These gall bladder symptoms do fit quite well- definitely get it checked at the docs, no point suffering repeated pain.

seeing doctor 2morrow at 10am....i am almost hoping it will happen again 2night (so i can take a wee sample)as i feel uncomfy today- not pain- and that's how i am between times...when it happened 1st of all i thought it was this bug going round...then it hit me twice more...and whilst i know i am stupid wishing it happen 2night...i just cannot believe it won't happen again...and feel anxious that i will not be able to 'prove' how crap i am unless i am actually in pain when i see the doctor!!!

thansk to you all...i have read all you said...and i feel sure it's gall bladder related.....
