Teeth Whitening?

Hello Smile

I have just spent £300 to have my teeth whitened with my dentist. I had the moulds specially made, was given a nice tube of toothpaste and 4 syringes of bleach stuff.

However, I realise my teeth REALLY did need help, but I cannot honestly say, they are white. They have gone down perhaps two, OK.... lets be generous, 3 shades of yellow.

Now, I was not expecting Simon Callow type tipex bling white, but most certainly a darn sight better than what I have.

I am wondering, that given my teeth were not great in the beginning.... that having them clean up the 3 shades lighter, one might ought to be grateful.

But for 300 squid.... I thought a good 5-6 shades lighter was on the agenda?

Any one else had theirs done? Worth it? Did you buy more bleach to keep going?

thanks in advance Confused xx

I had mine done in the same way as you, using the bleach that the dentist had given me. It took 2 weeks of nightly use and they were quite white at the end but not amazing. Now I have some much stronger solution from The States and only need to use it 2 or 3 times to get a much brighter effect and lots of compliments. What strength did your dentist give you?

It took me longer so I bought some top up bleach . If your teeth arent sensitive then keep it going. The really strong stuff is tempting but it can damage your teeth and burn your gums .

Ooooh, Dollydowser I really don't know what strength it would be. Where could I find that out? on the syringe perhaps?

KenDoddsDadsDog - it has been reacting on my teeth, and tbh I've had to have the odd night or two break in between. I don't think it has been the reason for the teeth not being as white as they could be.... but it might have. They are heaps better than they were for sure.... but could be better IMO. And I really do not think it was worth £300 big quid! Hmm

How much did you guys pay?

Have you heard of laser treatment? if so, any good?

I did combined laser treatment and trays. It was £500 about 8 years ago and I'm sure it's cheaper now.
It really does also depend on the gel strength that the dentist has given you. I used 15% gel for around 4 weeks.
You won't ever get Dazzling white as those are veneers, but if you aren't happy go back to the dentist .
I now top up with crest whitestrips.
