Anyone with Type 2 Diabetes?

I'm wondering what your symptoms were/are? Was there anything specific that made you suspect you had it?

A couple of things lately that have made me wonder if I might mention to my GP next time I have an appointment: dry mouth (having a drink doesn't seem to make any difference) and (a bit embarrassing) very itchy down below Blushwhich I've only had before when on anti-biotics after having a baby (nearly 9 years ago).

well yes, those 2 are symptoms. how thirsty are you? You should be drinking and drinking and drinking, and also thus weeing and weeing. weight loss? tired? do you feel dreadful?

Dunno about type 2 but when I got diagnosed with type 1 I was drinking a ridiculous amount and was so tired I could barely get ready for school! Oh and my eyesight went funny!

Yes I am drinking much more than I usually do and just cannot get rid of this dry mouth. I'm having to force myself not to try and drink too much at night for obvious reasons.

I have been tired and pretty naff for quite a while now and just put it down to having a toddler and 2 other school age children??? I wake up in the mornings and feel like I haven't slept a wink.

I go to Slimming World anyway so haven't noticed anything significant about my weight.

I've read on the nhs website that ethnic background can be a risk factor, my father is African.

When my DH was diagnosed his only symptom was blurry eyesight every morning.

I only picked up on it as I'm a podiatrist and we do a lot of work on diabetes in uni.

He wasnt the least bit tired, thirsty or feeling ill.
