DD (3) has approx 10 spots on face and neck - has ahd since this morning but hasn't got any worse. Some are red and others are like small blisters so sounds like chicken pox but I always thought the spots were supposed to spread really quickly?
Apart from that she is v tired, but generally OK otherwise.
Also, does anyone know how long nurseries usually exclude children who've had chicken pox for? Thanks.

Bicarb of Soda in a warm bath helps with the itching. Then just pat dry or leave wrapped in a towel.

my ds has come out in full blown cp today..his first spot appeared last sat and each day has gathered pace..i hope it doesn't get any worse..insect like bites all over his back, abdomen, genital area, neck and forehead..poor thing..

he's not itchy or miserable, no high temp..just fed up with being housebound..

could anyone suggest any remedies to help with the spots, blisters, itching (if and when it occurs)

I'm putting on calamine lotion and doctor has given a antihistimine (chlorphenamine 2mg). He also prescribed amoxcyllin..is this normal? I was rather surprised to see this on the prescription
