I was thinking about the coil, and just wanted too no what was the difference between the two that r available, also had a pelvic infection before(following a miscarriage though) but read that if u have had a pelvic infection ur more likely to get another from the coil, is this true?

& sorry for sounding dumb:/, but ino contraception doesnt usualy work for 7days unless used from 1st day of period, is this the same for the coil. :)

- IUD i.e. copper coil

IUS i.e. Mirena coil

I have recently had the mirena coil fitted and am not having any problems so far. I hadn't been having periods due to the mini-pill so had to continue with the pill for 7 days after insertion.

i am getting the mirena fitted next month, they said it works straight away, I have to have it fitted after my period and strictly no sex once period starts (safe or not!) until after its fitted
