Period, long and heavy.

2nd of February I had an abortion, baby wasn't growing and I didn't miscarry naturally. All went well, no problems.

3rd March I started my period, it has been very very heavy and is still going strong. Do I need to see anyone, or is it normal?

I haven't really had periods for 4 years as I have been either pregnant or breast feeding. Only had about 3.

I'd pop and see your GP. A usual period (if there is such a thing) is 5 days (ish). There cold be some remnants there or an infection so you need to be checked over.

No, it's nit right. Is there an out of hours doctor you can see? The hospital where you had the abortion? I'd pop to A&E if there isn't, I imagine you're feeling quite weak and unwell.

There is an A and E 5 mins away. i'll go. Wish me luck!

I hope all is OK and they get it sorted. It sounds like an infection, best to get it checked though.

Thanks for your concern, I'm finally back from A and E. The doctor really wasn't the kindest, but there you go.

It turns out I was still pregnant. No idea how and the doctor wasn't going to say the abortion didn't work or that the other doctor read the scan wrong. She just kept saying I was pregnant again, had I been to the family planning centre? I told her that unless i was Mary there was no way I could be preganant as DH and I haven't had sex since Christmas. All sorts of reasons why not, DD1 is 2.9 and DD2 is 13 months, we both work full time, I've been bleeding loads and generally knackered!

If she said scientifically you were pregnant, one more time...

Any how, not pregnant any longer the baby has miscarried compleatly now. Just need to go back for a check up in a few days.

I'm so sorry. It sounds really horrible for you. I'd wrap my arms around you if I could.

Did they check your haemaglobin levels? You've been bleeding for a long time, you're quite probably anaemic.
