Question about periods and the coil......warning tmi alert, sorry

Have had a t-safe coil for about a year. Periods were mega heavy for about 5 months then settled down to manageable.

This month I am due on this coming Friday. On Monday eve I spotted then nothing all day Tuesday. Wednesday morning (today) it was as though I had properly started, plenty of flow iyswim. Then by lunchtime I came to change the tampon and...nothing again. And nothing since.

So can anyone tell me if they have had the same? What's going on...hmmm?

Is T-safe a hormonal coil?

spacecadet · 01/02/2006 20:53

cant advise you on one of those im afraid, i had a normal coil once and the result of having one of those is now 18 months old!

QE2 · 01/02/2006 20:53

Oh sorry forgot to say that mts.

No, it has no hormone in it. I didn't want any so it wouldn't muck up my periods - ha!

QE2, used to have a Nova T and my periods were often the same - like a tap being turned off! Had one for 6 years btw

spacecadet · 01/02/2006 20:57

it could just be a slight fluctuation in hormones, ive had that happen a couple of times.

spacecadet · 01/02/2006 20:57

sorry Qe2, didnt mean to scare you.

Blandmum · 01/02/2006 20:58

Thanks, but I'm looking for a more 'vintage' one IYSWIM

QE2 · 01/02/2006 20:58

Is this something I should expect to happen and accept then do you reckon?

I do like to know where I am with my period as I hate being caught out.

Couldn't be pregnant could I ?

sorry, wrong thread

QE2 · 01/02/2006 20:59

martianbishop - are you sure you wanted that to be here?

sc - no worries
btw it's a no-hormone coil, so this is my hormones messing me about, yes?

yes your hormones Qe2!
theres always a possibility of pregnancy unless you never have sex!, I will be honest and say i do know lots of people including myself who have been caught out using the coil.
i should think its just your hormones though.
