I got a splinter yesterday off a blue pallet

I have had a go at getting it out last night but I couldn't -someone told me they always work their way out in the end so I left it

it has now formed a hard white lump over the piece of wood and a red circle round it about 2mm all the way round the splinter

do I need to dig it out or is it ok to leave?

and it hurts and I'm a big wuss

I normally end up using a needle to help get them out

Magnesium sulphate paste and a plaster over the top will draw it out without the need for digging. DH works with metal and often gets splinters, mag sulph. paste always gets them out.
