Vomity Baby, Chowder poo, what to do?

DS2 13 months has vomited four times today, cottage cheesy stuff.
He has refused most food for the last couple of days. Has been on a bottle day times for the last few weeks & breastfed in the evening before bed. I havent replaced any meals with extra milk the last few days, but breast fed instead of bottle occasionally. Hes had a bottle, toast, a banana today, refused porridge. He seemed his usual self and has no temperature, but an hour ago he did the most hideous poo, of which I have never seen the like...weve been really lucky with DS1, he seems to have an iron gut :) It was white & lumpy & watery and smelled of fish chowder.
Baby all bathed and clean and just dropped off with much whimpering.
I`m a worried, a tummy bug is grim enough... but he has no temperature?
Should I try & get him into the doc this afternoon? It would mean dragging DS1 along and waaaaaaaiting.
Any thoughts would be appreciated.

As long as he's still having fluids and breastmilk is probably the best fluid for him right now. He's ok in himself and doesn't have a temp I probably wounldn't take him to the doc's as they will just likely tell you it's a virous and send you home anyway.

Thanks MigGril. Thats what I thought re: the doctors. He had a whopper of a nap & seemed much happier this afternoon & no more spewing or pooing. Fingers crossed for a sleepful night.

Good luck we've got vomiting in this house as well this evening. Must have jinced it by answering your tread.

DS 16months threw up his tea and luch and then crashed out asleep. I hopeing he has a good night.

Dunno what area you are in but there is a horrible tummy bug going round babies in the North East, my DS (6 months) ended up in hospital last weekend with it. We were discharged Sunday night but warned it would go on for a few more days. Today (touch wood) is the first day of no puke and none fishy smelling luminous yellow poo. Poor little thing has lost a tonne of weight.

The doc told us as long as he was still weeing and calpol/nurofen controlled his temp he was ok to be at home, but if he stopped weeing or his temp wouldn't come down we had to go straight back.

This virus comes with a nasty rash, but apparently the rash only appears when its almost over. DS got the rash yesterday, so hopefully he will be fighting fit soon

Unfortunatley it would appear that DH has now got it Sad

Hope your DCs are well again soon

OOh, Nigella that sounds awful. DS seems better today, still not eating as much but defo more chipper.
We`re not as far north as you, but will obviously keep an eye on him. That fishy poo was grim, wasnt it!?

HOpe everyones feeling better soon.
