Help! I'm taking the things until I can find out what the ingredients are?, what the side effects are if any? and how to take them if I am taking other supplements as well?.

The leaflet inside the box is all German, there isn't a single word of English on the thing.

They are closed at the weekend Sad, the box and the bottle are all in German too and they had to order it in for me as they don't stock it, so I doubt they have multiple leaflets for the stuff.

Someone must have an english one, or know a site online that has the info?.

it's a heavy duty Vitamin D supplement available only on prescription. You are very lucky to have been prescribed this as most docs are not up to speed with it yet.

It has to be imported from Germany, which is why it's all in German.

As a Vit D supplement it should be fine, but if you can set out any particular concerns you have, I'll have a go at checking them out for you.

If you can find what the ingredients and any side effects from having too much (as I said I'm all ready taking a multi vit supplement) I'd be eternally grateful.

All I know is I'm spost to take 3, once a week.

It would appear that they contain pure Vitamin D in a carrier of peanut oil.

If you are allergic to peanut oil then you should not take and you should go back to whoever prescribed.

There is clearly an issue, wilfing round the internet, with the fact that they have peanut oil in and the information is all in German. It would seem that they should not have been dispensed to you without information in English.

If you can't take them because of the peanut oil issue, would you post your results and I'll see if what I take would be suitable.

I had to make my own arrangements because the NHS was not really able to help, but that was a couple of years ago and things have now moved on.

I presume you have been prescribed these because you have a serious deficiency. If so, then taking them as prescribed shouldn't be a problem.

Have a look at this to put it into perspective:

www.imperialendo.com/for-doctors/vitamin-d-guidelines

And some more, general information:

www.patient.co.uk/health/Vitamin-D-Deficiency.htm

Does that help?

If anyone is taking/contemplating taking Dekristol (or anything with a name that sounds remarkably similar) please can you get in touch.

Incidentally, as regards the issue of peanut oil, I understand that the regulator did send a note to practitioners alerting them to this, thus they should be mindful of this.

Thanks in advance.
