DH had it done a couple of years ago - it was the best decision ever. He went and stayed with his mum for a couple of days (because she lived close to the clinic and we don't) - she took him and he did need looking after as he felt quite unwell for the rest of the day - but he is naturally squeamish. They will give you eye drops to use for a while afterwards. You must must must do as you are told because dh did not and ended up with an infection and had to go back loads and risked the op not working. Luckily he was ok, and they were good at looking after him.

Oh and look up night vision and driving at night before you have it done. In some countries you are not allowed to drive at night after laser eye surgery because you will suffer from glare. DH did find night driving difficult for a few months, and it made his eyes very tired, but he is fine now.

Sorry to go on and on and on, but hope that was helpful.
