Abdominal pains... Any ideas?

My list of symptoms:

  1. Last 4/5 weeks feeling run down as though I was about to get a cold or the flu but it never arrived. One day a week in the evening feeling really poorly think that was it it was here and waking up to nothing.
  2. Saturday night had sharp pain in centre of abdomen, which have been coming and going. Mild pain all over.
  3. Since Sunday no appetite, when sitting down to eat feeling very full up after a small amount of food
  4. GP pressed on stomach causing pain on Monday - asked for sample
  5. No constant diarrhoea, just when I go it is like water (TMI sorry!) but does not cause any changes with the pain before, during or after
  6. Today 1 episode of very very sharp pain down right side of body

Can't go back to GP until they have sample results or she will think I am mad.

Any ideas? I feel so tired and my skin is really, really bad - covered in breakouts.

Thank you for any thoughts.

Sounds like appendicitis to me, especially because it started centrally and has moved to your right side. I'd recommend you see a doctor asap. Good luck!

Gallstones. But also need to check appendix too.

Good luck

Another vote here for getting appendicitis ruled out. Good Luck!

Does the pain come and go with appendicitis?

Should I wait for the pain to come back and go somewhere like a walk in service?

Thanks everyone.

I think it can do, but I don't know. I would wait, as you said, but I just got very sternly told off for my conservative attitude to health affairs yesterday by much wiser mners than I (and my subsequent trip to A&E proved them right!) so perhaps someone else would tell you to go sooner.

This seems to say it can come and go. Sorry, but I think maybe you ought to get checked out.

If it's appendicitis, when you press, it's sorer when you release, IYSWIM?

Goandplay · 06/03/2012 18:53

Pressing doesn't do anything on the right side.

Just spoke to NHS Direct and they agree with GP that it might be left over symptoms from a virus. They said if it gets worse then to go back to GP, but to wait for my sample results.

Thanks everyone. Will come back if anything changes.
