Caffeine withdrawal

I've given up coffee for Lent. I was concerned that I was drinking far too much and that it was affecting my sleep patterns, so Lent seemed like a good opportunity to cut it out. I gradually reduced over the week prior to Lent, so didn't go completely cold turkey.

So, I haven't had coffee for almost a fortnight. I have an almost constant dull headache, more a feeling of pressure than pain. My neck hurts, as though the soreness in my head is radiating downwards. I'm also craving chocolate and have been eating more than usual. Is the constant dull headache caffeine withdrawal? Should it be lasting for so long? I'm drinking tea, so not entirely caffeine free, and I've had a couple of Cokes too (don't normally drink fizzy drinks but had a bit of a craving.)

It couldn't be something serious that I'm ignoring because I think it's caffeine withdrawal, could it?

I think it is not related as the withdrawal symptoms usually go away after 2-3 days.
I often give up caffeine for lent, but completely, and feel tired and headachey for a few days and then much better and more alert than with caffeine.

Are you drinking enough water? Dehydration can cause headaches. Could be as simple as that. I'd say give it a few more days before you worry though. Last time I gave up coffee I had problems for about 10 days.

I'm the same as mousy. I've given it up a few times and never found that the headaches lasted more than a few days.

Mine only lasted a couple of days (one day was pretty bad though....) and you arent really going caffeine free, so I don't think its that I'm afraid.
