Help should I go to A&E?

I fell awkwardly last night at netball landing on my right knee. It hurt immediately but i carried on, albeit limping. Put an ice pack on when I got home and went to bed. Couldnt sleep with the pain as each time I moved in bed it hurt like mad.

Got up this morning and I cannot put any weight on it at all. I crawled to the bathroom. It's agony.

Can anyone offer any advice? Shall I just rest it or seek medical help?

Many thanks in advance.

You need to go to A&E

Go to a walk in centre, or rather a hobble in centre Grin

A+E I'm afraid!

alicethehorse · 02/03/2012 11:08

Sorry, A&E. Take a good book :)

Thanks so much for the quick responses! Ok, so I guess it's a trip to A&E. I was worried I'd be wasting their time. It is bloody painful though!

Thanks again.

Amputation is required I'm afraid. See that what happens when you do any form of exercise which just goes to show that exercise is bad for you.

They'll take your leg off just above the knee and give it to you as a souvenir. It comes in handy (or should that be leggy?) as a bat/door stopper/draught excluder/duster (with cloth tied to foot) etc.

Grin I wouldn't mind, I hate any form of exercise other than netball. I hate the narcissistic "warm up" training exercises the coach makes us do - they are horrendous (the plank, anyone?).

Right, I'm off - book under arm and snacks in bag.

Thanks again.

a&e probably need x-rays and they would give you a cast/brace and crutches if you need it.
take a good book!

Leg it to A&E straight away and if they do the amputation you can always sell it to Angelina Jolie - she's after a spare one.

IME (I keep cutting off my own fingertip Hmm) A&E staff are very nice. I always go in apologising for taking their time and they say "Well that's what we're here for dear" or similar Grin

Good luck, sounds hideous.
