No real easy way for this one so may as well just get on with it lol!

Dh noticed some spots on his member a few weeks back. The thing that annoyed me was that he made sure he got his end away BEFORE telling me!! Angry

He went to the doc who confirmed it was GW and was treated. They are now all clear.

One thing that is slightly worrying me, is that after 10 years of being together, where on earth did they come from? I know that they can lie dormant for several months or a year. .... But 10?

I am trying not to over think it, but to say it hasn't affected me would be a lie.

On a more practical note, I assume that they are catching and I will need to get looked at? I need to get to the docs on a separate issue, so I'll pluck up the courage to chat to the doc :(

Yes you do absolutely need to get checked out as you are likey to have them if you had unprotected sex and they can be nasty little fuckers, so the sooner you get them treated the better.

I caught them once from my then partner. He had caught them from someone else he was shagging at the same time, who I didn't know about. I am not saying the same is happening here, but in that case, the warts appeared about 8 weeks after having sex with her and mine turned up about another 5 weeks after that. I didn't realise what they were and if I had my time again would get treated a lot quicker than I did.

I also have to deal with the fact that the HPV that causes warts can increase the risk of cervical cancer - its just the gift that keeps on giving. Angry

Speak to your doctor and get referred to a GUM clinic as soon as you can and my advice is to be screened for everything else while you are there.
