5 yr old ds started vomiting Tuesday night and stopped Wednesday and diarrhoea started Wednesday and still ongoing. He just threw up dinner again now and is relaxing, getting him to continue drinking fluids and otherwise seems fine within himself.

I got diarrhoea Friday morning and it seems to have calmed down but poor ds still going on so no school again tomorrow for him and probably off to gp for him. Is this thing going around?

there are several children off dd/ds's school at the moment. One wee boy threw up as he was leaving the school building on Thursday but ds said that the boy said he had been sick the night before so shouldnt have been at school that day anyway. Just waiting for it to go round us now

DD1(8) was sent home monday pm and started vomiting that eve. She went back to school wed and had diarrhoea thurs am. She'll be back at school tomorrow. DD2 (6) was sick last night, and has had a sky high temp today. No diarrhoea yet, but she'll be home tomorrow. DS has had D but no V and an awful temp. He's 2.6 so is home anyway.

DH is looking green so i'm guessing it'll be him tonight, then me later in the week!

I think there's a lot of it about .
GP told me it's spread by air borne droplets ( often before person has any symptoms ) and to avoid coughs etc .
It's ghastly - huge sympathies to any sufferers .

FelixDaSouza · 26/02/2012 19:53

Oh big sympathies from me.

We had it a fortnight ago and it was blardy horrendous.

DD (23 months) got it first and was Ill for about 6 days in total and was very weak and then me, DH and DS all had it. It was really bad because it just made us all so weak. Not nice at all.

Hope you all recover soon. Smile

I shouldn't have read this. DD1 spent all of yesterday evening till the early hours of the morning being sick; no further issues apart from being wiped out.

I noticed at bedtim that DD2 was feeling a bit hot. I feel shocking but have not yet been sick. DD3 is only just recovering from chicken pox. DH? Moved to the Middle East on Thursday and we won't see him for 12 weeks.

We have it too. 18 mo DS had a v high temp all day Wednesday then threw up all day Thursday and Friday, a bit on Saturday and also diarrhea. He's now weak but recovering. Now I feel terrible. Only one (downstairs) loo in our house and DH texted from work to say he's feeling dodgy :(

mintymellons · 27/02/2012 13:57

DD2 (23mo) had this from last Tues til about Fri. It involved three vomiting episodes (two Tues afternoon, then not again til Thursday morning!) plus horrid diarrhea. She was pretty lacklustre too. I had the diarrhea briefly but otherwise ok and DD1 and OH clear too. Was pretty awful though, so hope you feel better soon if you have it right now!

HuggyPomBear · 27/02/2012 22:02

My DD has it (16 months) puking on Friday from around 1530 to 2300 then high temp the next day with one dreadful nappy, then ok Sunday until 1830 then the D started, all night and all today with bad cramps and explosive farts with accompanying dirty nappies....

prettymum · 27/02/2012 22:28

Ds is starting to get better now, went to the toilet twice today and slightly runny. He has started to eat more today as well which is a huge relief as I always find this part the hardest and hopefully he should be back to school on Wednesday.

We have it to. Dd ended up in hospital with it as she couldnt keep her kidney, bowel and blood pressure medicine down, my mum has it now as well.

vix206 · 28/02/2012 11:08

We've been clear of the v&d for 2 days but now he has a cold and eye infection plus was up from 12.30-6.30am in the night wide awake and the only thing he wanted was milk. He's breastfed, normally twice a day only so I'm now totally exhausted in every way. He's 18 months old today, would've liked a nicer day for it! Hope everyone feels better soon

My daughter at uni came down with it on Sunday night - fainted in the toilet, so I went to see her yesterday and I started with the vomiting last night. Daughter now well enough to go into uni this afternoon but I feel wiped out and existing on lucozade. Hoping its just a 24 hour bug but I really feel for all the mums with little ones who are suffering.
