Anyone had it done? Any words of wisdom?

Not me, but a friend last year. They left her ovaries in.
She recovered really quickly, although kept feeling fantastic and doing too much and feeling crap and sore for a few days.
She was completely back to normal 6/7 weeks after the op.

Advice therefore would be to pace yourself - even if you feel fine, make sure you rest plenty and don't do too much walking/lifting/housework etc.

Thanks I heard you recover quicker but is that the 'wound' rather than your innards

My hysterectomy was not by keyhole but by going in via my vagina. I have no scars at all and recovered really well. My ovaries were left intact so no menopause or HRT. Best thing I have ever done!

Funily enough I am actually looking forward to having it done!!
