I started with one the night before last, (4am Hmm) I have had them before I had DS - not had one for about 4 years, I'm very bad at drinking and Iknow thats what causes it.
Anyway I went to my GP yesterday, she wasn't happy that I had visible blood in my urine (sorry TMI Blush) and prescribed 7 days anti-biotics (trimethroprim) When I have had these before they work after the first dose but this time they haven't I have had 3 so far and I still have blood in my urine which is getting a bit worse. Should I contact the GP again or leave it until tomorrow see if 48 hours of anti-biotics does the trick? (obviously I will be taking the whole course reguardless)

The antibiotics will (usually) take a bit longer to work than that. I would give it a bit longer. On the other hand it is the weekend so are you happy to wait til Monday or happy that you can get the out of hours doc if necessary?

Are you drinking lots and taking paracetamol etc? And by lots I mean gallons, flush the germs out!!

Ooh and a hot water bottle. I dont leave home without one.

Good luck and I hope you feel better soon.

Give it at least 72 hours to see improvement..... Even then all they will probably do is tell you to stick with it... Hang in there.

Go and see the doctor, they might want to change your antibiotic. Without a culture and sensitivity test they can't tell what will be the most effective for the particular infection so it can be quite hit and miss.
