rummum started a thread earlier saying that both she and her mother have been accepted as volunteers.

The volunteers were a life line when I did the walk. They kept smiling and giving words of encouragement. Whenever the walk felt like it was too much.. there was another volunteer smiling and telling me that I could do it and that I had already done incredibly well.

So, good on you for volunteering.

Hello just found this....

Yep Mother and I are going to be volunteers, in fact we had another letter asking us what job we would like to do..
Have you done it before?
what are you going to volunteer to do...

notasheep · 12/02/2006 21:06

I did the full Marathon walk with my dp in 2001 and felt as i had done it I shouldnt be greedy and apply again.
So volunteered and got place.

Really looking forward to it as it will be a weekend away for me WITHOUT dp dd and ds,also i have 2 close girlfriends in London so i will get to see them too.
Ill prob end up in London for a while.

On the volunteering,I am hoping to Marshal and not fussed about what shift i do.

Think Mums net walkers/volunteers ought to have something outstanding to identify themself!

rummum · 12/02/2006 21:17

what do you suggest to identify ourselves.... carnation behind our ears...

notasheep · 12/02/2006 21:38

Thinking about it!

OP posts:
rummum · 12/02/2006 22:03

I could stand at the start and shout NOT A SHEEP and you would recognise me as the person being carried off in a straight jacket.....

we'll have to rendezvou..
we'll think of something..
it looks like its just you me (and mother) volunteering from here then...

notasheep · 12/02/2006 22:07

OP posts:
alliep30 · 12/02/2006 22:23

but you're a volunteer... you must scoop the poop for free, or get 7's dog to eat it...

notasheep · 12/02/2006 22:26

Or get Anthea Turner to eat it

alliep30 · 12/02/2006 22:28
