Hair thinning, what can I do?

Hi. I am 31, and have noticed in the past months that my hair seems to be thinning around the front.
I don't think it's coming out more than normal, it just isn't growing I suppose.
My daughter is 19 months old, so it can't be due to childbirth.
Could I be lacking in anything?
Does anyone else have the same problem?
Does hair get thinner with age?
I spend so long looking at it in the mirror, sometimes I think it's just my imagination!
It seems to be worse in one area near my parting.
Hope some others can reassure me,
debbie

have you been to your hairdresser what does she think, does she think it is thinning? If she thinks it is I would go to your gp and get a refferal to a dermitoligist. My sister hair started thinning and she went to see a dermitoligist who precribed some vitamins and it did start to go thicker again.

Sometimes though it just looks thinner if you have had the same hairstyle and parting for a while. Might be worth a change!hth

Thanks, I did mention it to the hairdresser, but I have only been to her a few times, so not sure if she would notice.
I think I'll mention it to the doctor and see if I could be referred.

Go to your doctor and have tests for thyroid function. A malfunctioning thyroid can cause thinning hair. Also are you getting enough iron and protein? A basic multi-vitamin with iron won't hurt.
