Hi ... Forgive me if I m telling you stuff you already know!!! Make sure you only wash with Aqueous cream for your vagina, when you re treated with antibiotics do you have the week course of Metronidazole?, do you use Balance Active before you develop BV? Best to use before you get your period. Don t use bubble bath or wash your hair in the bath or lubrication ... Don t know if any of these pointers will help???
Some women are more prone to BV.. Are you on the pill??? X

AngelGeorgie · 20/02/2012 16:41

Also it will come back at certain times in the month as BV & vaginal changes are linked to the hormone changes we go through linked to our menstral cycle. X

wonderingwendy · 20/02/2012 16:46

no im not on the pill- i do all of what you suggested as i read up on it well - maybe i should try probiotic yoghurt next - bloody hate the stuff but just want it to go away - even my kids have noticed - its so incredibly embarassing

Not known the yoghurt to help maybe try metronidazole gel pessaries as opposed to oral medications?

Both my sister and I are chronic sufferers. We have both found different ways to combat/treat this without the need for antibiotics.

She swears by a high dose of folic acid and acidophilus at the first whiff sign, says it's gone within hours.

I use a tea tree oil and boric acid douche, as recommended on here, and that also gets rid immediately. However, next time I'll be trying Dsis's method, as it's a lot less messy!

You need to work out what is causing this. For me it's sperm. If, like at the moment because we're TTC, sperm stays inside me for any length of time then I often end up with BV because the alkalinity of sperm un-balances the acidity of my vagina. For my sister it's condoms, she reacts to the rubber.

There are lots websites which give lots of info about the possible causes but basically it's an imbalance in your foof.

Get some Lactobacilus acidophilus capsules, they'll really help and you won't have to drink those yakult things.

You're welcome Wendy. It's no fun having an iffy fanjo. I really hope it's sorted for you soon. Smile
