Vicks on feet for a cough!

It works!!
I was so sceptical when my friend told me this yesterday but after a week of non-stop hacking, every cough syrup going and zero sleep I was willing to try anything.
Smother your feet all over in Vicks then put cotton socks on before bed and it'll ease your cough soo much.
That's all!

My mum used to do this for us as kids, and I still do it with my kids.

Not sure it works but it is part of the ritual of being looked after when ill for me, along with hot ribena and making up a bed on the sofa.

A friend mentioned this the other day and I wasn't sure. Is it safe for children @ 4yo?

Sadly, didn't work on the dds (not tried it for me, but as I've had the hacking dry night time cough for a week now, I may!). It does sound comforting though Smile

Not very nice, but garlic rubbed on the soles of the feet just before bed works too!

Slice a bulb of garlic in half across the cloves and rub the wet side all over the soles, then put warm socks on - there will be a difference by the morning Smile

I've rubbed Vicks on the soles of my kids' feet since they were old enough to have Vicks rubbed on them. Before that, I'd rub Snufflebabe on their feet. My Mum used to do this with us.

I think that it works because it's a cross between aromatherapy and reflexology.
