Anyone had surgery for piles

Mine are really bad and every cream I've tried hasn't worked. Going back to GP and really need something to be done

Yes, I had 5 thrombosed hemorrhoids removed 10 weeks after giving birth, I had been in absolute agony for weeks and although was in pain for a few hours after having them removed, they have not come back and it has been a year. The surgery is not complicated or painful, definitely talk to your GP

My mother had them done and said she was in agony for a week or two. Apparently the aftermath is very painful for lots of people, so I would research it well before deciding whether to have it.
