Still bleeding after giving birth 9 weeks ago

I am still bleeding after giving birth 9 weeks ago, I had my "6" week check up today and the doctor told me that it was hormonal and he wanted to put me on the pill to stop the bleeding. My problem with this is that I am allergic to the pill, and I am breastfeeding and wish to continue, but I was informed that I would have to stop if he put me on the pill. I had a forcep delivery and had a large cut to get my daughter out. I had sex a few days ago and it was so painful I had to stop. It hurt inside me and on examination today the doctor told me that the pain was from the cut area. But he couldn't tell me if it hadn't healed properly because of the bleeding as he couldn't see. So that's why he wants me to go on the pill. Anybody got any advice about what to do?

I bled for 16 weeks after Ds was born. I went to the drs a couple of times and was always told it just seemed to happen to an unlucky few but that there was nothing wrong. It did stop in the end.

I was told that because I had a larger baby 10lb 1oz, I would bleed for slightly longer, that was by mw, but Dr said its not true. Is there any other way to stop the bleeding without taking the pill, any other way so I can carry on breastfeeding? Thank you for your comments, and I'm trying to rest as much as any new mum can. lol.

I bled for 12 weeks after having ds - in the end I passed a dice sized lump of tissue which I assume was retained placenta and it stopped. GP said to keep an eye on it, and as long as not smelly it would normally sort itself out.

The GP should not be pressurising you to go on the pill, but giving you some guidance and support

U can take a mini pill and still BF. I did with last 2 dcs and intend to this time too. Both fed up to 1yr with mini pill. If blood isnt fresh red , excessive or smelly i understood its normal. Also u can bleed and then get your first period if you're unlucky. I didnt get mine untill 11 months though :)
