TOOTHACHE!

I have horrendous toothache for the 3rd time in 6 months! Feel like life is so unfair at the moment! Lol, just wanted some advice. Been dentist this morning and had an x ray and he said there's a little decay and has prescribed me antibiotics. He seems to think ill be ok and the toothache will go away after 12 hrs on them but I've been searching the internet and all I can see is if u have toothache antibiotics won't help the problem and u either need root canal or extraction. Any advice?

Just have it out lol... will be so much better, ive had loads of abbsesses and they are so painfull as during my two pregnancies two of my teeth have broken, try clove oil it stinks but it works for me. If you have an infection they will work (the antibiotics)I found co codamol helped x

Thank you :) I didn't really want to have it out as already have lost one tooth and got to have root canal on another in march :( I blame my addiction to coca cola, really must start looking after my teeth! Hopefully the antibiotics will work

Antibiotics are rarely the answer for toothache. Personally inwould never prescribe them for toothache unless I could absolutely not do anything else. A rare occurrence except for wisdom teeth.

Your dentists needs to do something. Extraction or root canal treatment. Fact.
