What is wrong with me?! Tmi alert!

I should have gone to the doctors years ago but have been too embarrassed. I struggle to go to the loo, every time I go it's very painful and I bleed. And it doesn't come out properly, there is a big bulge which I have to push for it to come out (sorry tmi!). However since giving birth 19months ago it's even worse and more difficult. Seems like I have no muscles so can't feel to push properly. It is so so painful going and I dread it every time. Oh and I have to hold my lady parts as feel like they will fall out!! This is also the the same when I cough!

Not sure if there is any connection but I also find it painful and uncomfortable to have sex and I get lower back pain alot. I haven't been to dr about this either. I know I really should, just need to pluck up the courage to go.

So sorry for all the tmi, does anyone know what could be wrong with me? I would love to just feel normal!

I get pain and bleeding and mine is anal fissures. Does it feel like you're passing broken glass? You really should get it checked because you can get things to help. It's not nice telling someone stiff like this or being examined but gps see it all the time and will be very professional. I think you should be brave and see the doc. I'm sure they'll be able to help. You've already made the first step by talking about it on here.

Do you think it could be a rectocele? this has explicit pictures

BusyBee86 · 06/02/2012 20:50

Thank you for your replies. Yes it does feel like passing broken glass so maybe it is that then?! But I also think it could be a rectocele after looking at the pictures and reading about it. I have alot of those symptoms. Do you know what the doc will do if I go and if it is an anal fissure and a rectocele what would the treatment be?

Im actually going to be ttc soon, do you think I should get all this sorted out before trying for another?

I would definitely at least get it looked at before ttc and see what the doc says. It could be both. Treatment I've had for anal fissures has been an ointment and stool softeners. Also someone on here suggested pooing leaning really gar forward. I now poo with my hands on the floor and it still hurts but much less. Go and see the doc, find out what it is and mention you might be ttc. Just see what they say about everything. Good luck.

Thank you somersaults, it's so nice to be able to talk about this with someone. I haven't even told my DP! I will def pluck up courage to book an appointment in the next week or so. Think I will write down all my symptoms just incase as knowing me I will forget to mention some!

I talked about my problems on here before I told DH but somehow then it was easier to tell him about it. The anonymity is nice on here but once you've talked about it once it is easier the next time. You don't need to keep suffering. Mine are getting better I think now. It's slow going for me but there has been an improvement.

BusyBee86 · 06/02/2012 22:11

I'm glad your slowly getting better. Shame there isn't something that can instantly make it better and all disappear. Now my target is to make an appointment in next week or so!

After your encouragement I have finally booked an appointment with the doctor for next Monday. Very nervous but I know I need to go. I've decided enough is enough and I really must go.

Good for you! I really hope they can help you and that you leave knowing that it was worth the nerves and embarrassment. I'm sure you'll feel better once you've been.

Jammygal · 07/02/2012 17:39

I went with anal fissure a few weeks ago (I was desperate ) and doc examined my bum ....she also did a smear as I was due one and to check out that dept! It really wasn't that bad ....I think the thought of it is always worse.....make sure you keep your appt and let us know how you get on !

BusyBee86 · 07/02/2012 18:37

Good luck at the Docs, hope they sort it out for you!.....I had terrible constipation all while I was pregnant and then it was agony trying to go to the loo after my C-Section, I hated feeling like that!!! get it checked out asap....as there are things they can do to at least make it easier and less painful to go x

BusyBee86 · 20/02/2012 14:57

Well I have finally been to the drs. So glad I went, was easier than I thought. She is sending me for an ultrasound r.e painful sex. So hopefully will find out what is causing that. She has also given me laxatives to help me go to the loo without having to push at all. She will be reviewing me in 3/4weeks time. She said it looks like a prolapse(not sure of what!). Will be referring me to gyno but waiting for the results of ultrasound so she knows what she is referring me for( coz there is so much going on!) hope that all made sense. Thank you for persuading me to go Grin feel much better already.

I'm really glad you feel better about it all and well done for going. Sounds like you are on track to figuring it all out and being on the mend.
