I'm so glad I've found this thread as I havent been able to find much information on this condition. I've been diagnosed with gastritis and a cascading stomach after having an endoscopy and a barium meal. I take lansaprazole and famotidine but they are not helping much. I suffer from nausea daily but currently not taking any meds. I find your posts very helpful. Thankyou.

Hi just read all threads and SO helpful. Just been diagnosed with cup and spill (cascade) stomach after lots of tests and all the same symptoms you all mention. Dr was bit vague but learnt so much more from your comments and am making my own plan of action
Eat smaller portions and eat slowly
Consider going on low Fodmap diet (it's drastic so need to consider)
Def no surgery
It's great to know there's a real cause for what I've felt for years!

I'm so glad I've found this thread as there's not much info out there. I've had an endoscopy and a barium meal and waiting for a ct scan to confirm if I've got a cascading stomach. I take lansaprazole and famotidine daily but I'm not getting much relief. Sometimes I feel very nauseous, my doc has recently given me medication for this. I feel tightening under my ribs causing my bras to be very uncomfortable. I've had to buy extensions to help with this.
It's great to hear all your helpful comments.

Much the same as you - was put on omeprazol. As no benefit the dosage was increased and gaviscon added. Then also famotodine. After period of months and no benefit I have come off them all. Had Barium swallow and today cup and spill deformity diagnosed. No advice given so it's up to
me. Thinking of going on low fodmap diet to try. I too feel very tight under my bra and upper ribs. Also recently had hysterectomy and very large fibroid discovered so everything very tight. Had to stop wearing underwired bras for while.
It is so helpful to hear comments and experience of others.

I am so pleased to have found a discussion on Cup and Spill Stomach. As many have said, there seems to be very little written about this. Mine was discovered following a Barium Meal and Follow Through. I don't take any medication but I have felt nauseous now and then between episodes of violent sickness.
The sickness has carried on for six years now, at intervals of approximately one and a half months. For some reason it has eased recently so I am optimistic. Endoscopies have eliminated worries relating to obstructions. I am relieved to know that those were clear.

In case it is helpful to anyone, I commented on extreme hunger to the senior nurse I spoke to recently. She said that's classic for cup and spill. It was kind of reassuring too because nobody else had recognised this symptom.

I wonder how the earlier posters are getting on, as this discussion topic began so long ago.

Interesting to read this thread.
Susiefx I have a cup and spill stomach and I too am suffering with nasal drip for a long time. I wonder if you found a connection?
I was diagnosed 20 years ago after an investigation for another problem. This year at age 73 I am suffering much worse with heartburn type symptoms but not every day. I am avoiding what I think are trigger foods and anything gassy which has always caused me burping. Reading your posts I think the stitch like pain that sometimes occurs in my right side and which the GP could find no reason for must be related.
Lying on the left side definitely helps when possible! I agree at times I feel so full it's not possible to finish a meal. Luckily that's not too frequent. Thank you so much for your posts.

I have been sick less frequently over the last year. I think that eating smaller amounts, a little more often, helps.

Good to hear from others with this stomach! It's reassuring..thanks.
