I have had diarrhea/loose stools for eight weeks now and it is getting me down.

Cause is medication and whilst I take tablets that are supposed to bung me up they are not working. diet is very restricted but would be interested to hear if anyone has any bright ideas to help bowels reform to normal.

I am not eating anything at all that you would normally eat to help bowels. I am eating meats, chicken, fish, restricted veggies, occasional yoghurt, occasional buscuits

Lots of bananas.

could I ask what you mean by your diet is very restricted ?
(I thought you meant from the doctor with the medication to help)
but then you say your not eating anything at all that you would normally eat to help your bowels...

I must ask, why?

and do you know what has caused this, what did the doctor say

TrinityRhino · 05/02/2012 18:56

ooooh the CAUSE is medication

sorry misread it

bummer

Are you allowed eggs and/or white rice? Both might help.

medication - am recovering from cancer treatment and bone marrow transplant.

Diet restrictions - must be low fibre, high protein, carbs, lots o restrictions on veggies, no fizzy pops, no fruit,

I think dairy is a problem so have limited intake but dietician wants me to have more dairy for calcium and protein.
I am keeping food diary but cant see what is causing problem

I think eggs (high protein, low fat) and white rice would fit in well with that diet.

Thanks Bibbity, I do eat eggs and rice as well, forgot to add it to the list.

Any other good suggestions?
