What support is out there for cancer sufferers?

MIL has just been diagnosed and is so very very scared. Says she doesn't know if she wants to go through with chemo and radiotherapy. I think she needs to talk to people who can offer informed advice, what's out there? Does anybody know?
TIA!

Is she in this country emkana. In this country the two particular cancer charities that spring to mind are BACUP and MacMillan.

We found Cancer Bacup helpful during my dad's treatment for testicular cancer and non-Hodgkin's lymphoma.

Macmillan

Used to work in the sector (fundraiser rather than carer- for Macmillan) and would agree with Cancer Bacup and Macmillan too. Macmillan has an information line on the site, if you call it they can signpost you to what you need: eg local groups and specialist groups for differentc ancers, because they do vary a lot interms of treatment / prognosis.

Breast cancer Care is also good if that's the cancer she has here and if she s dead against the treatment, the Bristol Cancer Help Centre here is a leading holistic cancer charity.

HTH. And don't forget to get support for yourself too: she has to make the right decision for herself, that might mean one you find hard to deal with, and the charities above will support you too.

Thank you all very much!

Peachyclair, have you clicked on the Macmillan link? I think you might have made a mistake there
