Painful jaw joint?

I've had a painful jaw joint, one side, since Sunday morning.

It feels slightly swollen but doesn't look it, and has become quite warm to the touch. The pain is like a constant, slightly stingy ache if that makes sense?

Ibuprofen has been helping until today and now it doesn't touch it. It hurts a bit to open my mouth and to chew.

Any ideas? Google has thrown up TMJ, but it doesn't mention the warmth I have over the joint.

Thanks x

I had temporal mandibular jaw disfunction, I think it was caused by my snoring (i'd had an ear ache for a few months before hand) but it was aggravated by some dental work I had done which then caused constant pain and problems eating, I dont remember it being warm.

I took ibuprofen for a bit and after having the tooth put right it sorted itself out again.

Thanks Lemonaide Smile

It's so bloomin' sore, and it's making me grumpy. I've tried putting cold on it and it hasn't helped, maybe I'll try heat.

Thanks again x
